‘PDA Day’ is a new beginning symbolically dedicated to all the great individuals of the PDA community: Akhilesh Yadav

Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav said that “PDA Day” marks a new beginning, symbolically dedicated to all the great individuals of the PDA community who never supported any hegemon and have always pursued the dignity, upliftment, and equality of every oppressed, distressed, and humiliated individual.

BSP supremo Mayawati had already criticised SP for holding PDA Day on March 15, the birth anniversary of BSP founder Manyawar Kanshi Ram. She also termed it a drama by the SP.

However, Akhilesh Yadav stated that today the entire PDA community is delighted and happy with the decision to truly carry forward the mission of many PDA greats like Kanshi Ram. In fact, even those who, due to some compulsion, are unable to clearly state their position or are forced to say things they never wanted to, are deeply happy. He stated that it is not always necessary that the pen possess the words.

The SP president stated that it is not always the case that the words are the same as the one who writes, nor is it always the case that the meaning conveyed by the statement is the same.

“Sometimes the writer and the one who gets it written are different. Often, negative and divisive political forces, to maintain their power by dividing society, conspire in this manner and also force people. We respect the elders and sympathise with them. We always maintain verbal relations with elders with all our hearts. Bound by a thread of pain due to historical humiliation, ‘we are all one’, we are all PDA because we always say it, and today we are saying it again,” he commented.
